Knowledge mining, compliance regulations, and risk management are just a few of the primary reasons why companies archive information. These data centers are under 24/7 surveillance and are protected by biometrically controlled doors, exterior and interior CCTV cameras, glass breaks, motion detectors, alarm panels, audible alarms, lights and silent alarms. Each data center also undergoes annual Statement of Accounting Standard number 70 or "SAS70" audits.
